Daniel Ricciardo, #SingaporeGP, Friday: “Today seemed to go alright. I have a bit to find on short runs but I’m not too worried. I know we’ll find some pace quite easily, it’s just some small things. The long runs seemed a bit more positive. The car was certainly there, but I just need to put it all together. We’ll work on that tonight and analyse the data. Nico was well in the top ten all day so it shows the potential of the car. I knew this would be trickier than Monza, but we’re not in bad shape.” ∙ #RSspirit #Renault #F1 #Formula1 #DanielRicciardo #MarinaBay  #🇸🇬  #Singapore  #F1NightRace

Nico Hülkenberg, #SingaporeGP, Friday: “It’s always tricky in Singapore as it’s a busy circuit and very humid. I felt at home on the low fuel runs and I had a good rhythm with the car doing what I wanted. The long runs seem to be more challenging at this stage and I struggled a bit in FP2. We’ll investigate that and see what’s going on. Apart from that, it was an okay Friday with no big issues. As expected, it will be tight this weekend but we have a competitive package to fight for points.” ∙ #RSspirit #Renault #F1 #Formula1 #NicoHulkenberg #MarinaBay  #🇸🇬  #Singapore  #F1NightRace

Christian Lundgaard, Renault Sport Academy Driver, R.S.17 Test: “Today was a good day with a childhood dream coming true: driving a Formula 1 car on a race track. I’ve done some demos before in Formula 1 machinery but nothing can compare to this. I’m pretty pleased with the day in general, I kept it on the black stuff, which was important and completed a lot of laps. I felt comfortable straight away, which was pleasing. It was unbelievable driving down the straight for the first time and then feeling the brake power the car has. Hopefully, one day, I will drive a current car with my name on it and do all the races. That’s my goal. I would like to say thanks to Renault for this opportunity; it was unreal and something I will remember for a very long time. I will never forget this experience.” ∙ #RSspirit  #Renault  #F1  #Formula1  #RenaultSportAcademy

Ciaron Pilbeam, Chief Race Engineer, #SingaporeGP: “This is a complete change from the previous race at the low downforce Monza circuit and the drivers need to adjust to it. Singapore is a street circuit with almost entirely slow corners and close barriers, and the cars will all run maximum downforce. The circuit layout is hard on tyres, with high braking and traction demands and rear tyre overheating is often a problem. Especially in the last sector where there is a series of right-left and left-right chicanes. This is the longest race of the year and the heat and humidity make it a severe physical challenge for the drivers.” ∙ #RSspirit  #Renault  #F1  #Formula1  #MarinaBay  #🇸🇬  #Singapore  #F1NightRace

Nico Hülkenberg, #SingaporeGP, Preview: “Singapore is the only real night race on the calendar, so that makes it really unique. It’s probably the most physical race of the season. A lap is very busy at the wheel, extremely physical and tiring. It’s a long circuit with corners coming thick and fast without many straights to have a rest. The team left Italy on a real high. The whole weekend was a super effort from everyone, starting with a solid qualifying result and then a strong race to move up a position. We’ve made a big swing in the Constructors’ Championship and the race for fourth is on. We have to develop this now and aim to pick up these kinds of results more regularly. It’s certainly possible and we won’t be letting up.” Read the full Q&A at RenaultSport.com ∙ #RSspirit  #Renault  #F1  #Formula1  #NicoHulkenberg  #MarinaBay  #🇸🇬  #Singapore  #F1NightRace
