. . .
3, 2, 1... Bungy!
. . .
Bungy jump from a height of 160 meters (525 ft) (8th highest in the world) over a high tropical gorge, with one of Nepal's wildest river raging below.
. . .
I remember I was nervous as I stood on the edge and the instructor asked if I was ready. I replied with a quick “YESSS”.
The next thing I know he is reverse counting for me. “3,2,1… and Bungy.” And then came the moment of truth.
That 10 or so seconds of pure free-fall took me to a different world. I didn’t hear a sound, nor was my mind playing any tricks on me anymore. As I surrendered myself to the moment instead of controlling it, I entered into a state of pure bliss. Blood rushed into my body, as I paced towards the ground with my head upside down and my hands far stretched. I screamed as loud as I could. Suddenly, I was pulled up by Bungy, almost halfway to the original height, only to free-fall again. I screamed once again.
As my bungy rope stabilized a minute or two later, the guys pulled me up. My harness was removed and the feeling I got can never be described in words.
. . .
This spectacular leap off a 160m-high (525 ft) cliff is at The Last Resort about 100kms east of Kathmandu and 12kms from the Tibetan border and is one of the world’s best bungee jumping spots, overlooking the Bhote Kosi River and shadowed by the towering Himalayas.
