This fall, starting October 12, the Kunsthal Rotterdam proudly presents the first retrospective on French creator @manfredthierrymugler. This exceptional creator who revolutionized fashion is known for his morphological, futuristic cuts and glamorous, sculptural and elegant silhouettes.
The exhibition ‘Thierry Mugler: Couturissime’, initiated, produced and circulated by the @mbamtl, in collaboration with the Clarins Group and the Maison Mugler, brings together more than 140 ensembles created between 1973 and 2001, where most of them are being displayed for the first time! As well as many never-before seen accessories and stage costumes, clips and videos, archival documents and sketches. The exhibition is compiled by the Canadian curator @thierrymaximeloriot who in collaboration with the Kunsthal produced the exhibitions about Viktor&Rolf (2018) and Jean Paul Gaultier (2013). As well as the international traveling Peter Lindbergh exhibition in 2016, which was produced by the Kunsthal in close collaboration with Thierry-Maxime Loriot.
The exhibition's world premiere will launch in Montreal in March 2019. As collaboration partner, the Kunsthal Rotterdam will be the second stop and the first venue in Europe to show this spectacular exhibition!
